Virginia Technical Institute in Altavista, VA is sponsoring this program at the SVHEC. Those who complete the program successfully will be eligible for National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) certification.
We offer an affordable tuition payment plan that allows students to pay over the course of four months (1st installment includes a one-time $25 processing fee). If you'd rather pay the entire tuition up front, we offer that option as well.
The IT Academy (ITA) offers short-term training to prepare individuals with the skills and certifications required for employment in Southern Virginia’s growing Information Technology sector. As an authorized CompTIA Academy, ITA will provide a core curriculum leading to CompTIA certification in A+, and Server+.
Students will be able to complete the entire core curriculum in approximately four months, and have the skills necessary to work in Southern Virginia's growing IT sector. ITA will also offer intermediate & advanced level training based on industry needs and employer demands.

Demonstrate you have the knowledge, skills and abilities to excel in the present and future job market. Testing will take place on Fridays from 9a-5p in the SVHEC Assessment Center, located on campus at the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center.
A $25 proctoring fee is required for all assessments not purchased through the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center. Proof of payment is required before entry into the testing center is permitted.

Work Ready Foundations© is a hands-on program – the preferred and most effective learning method for many adult learners.
Participants will be provided with a range of safety training and the opportunity to practice on electrical and mechanical equipment.
Partnerships with local industries will provide participants with industry exposure and expertise through visits to local manufacturers.

Hybrid: AHA Course Content Online Followed by a Skills Practice and Check-Off at the CNE
Become certified or recertified by taking the appropriate American Heart Association (AHA) course online (online content prices vary from $22 to $39) and then completing a Skills Check-Off at the CNE ($35).
The Skills Check-Off session takes less than an hour at the CNE, and you are done! No manual purchase is required!
